It’s been another busy year for the REALTORS® Charitable Foundation. The Foundation named Spare Key its 2024 grant recipient and, in April, Foundation members attended its annual Groove Gala. There, Foundation members had the opportunity to educate attendees about REALTORS® Charitable Foundation and its efforts to support Spare Key, which helps families in medical crisis with financial assistance through its Help Me Bounce platform.
In September during REALTOR® Safety Month, the Foundation partnered with Valley Self-Defense to offer a self-defense class to interested SPAAR members, with Spare Key the recipient of the proceeds. Donations to support Spare Key are still being accepted through November 30 and will be matched 100% by REALTORS® Charitable Foundation.
The Foundation also awarded five high school and college students, each receiving a $2,000 scholarship to use toward their post-secondary education. These scholarships are awarded annually to the children or grandchildren of SPAAR members who seek to continue education at a 2- or 4-year institution or a trade school.
“REALTORS® Charitable Foundation works on behalf of SPAAR members who help make these grants and scholarships possible,” said Bill Schwietz, 2024 Foundation president. “We’re always seeking new members to get involved and be part of our events throughout the year.”
In addition, the Foundation has continued its ongoing financial support of the SPAAR Hero program, which honors nominated teams and individuals who give back within their communities. SPAAR Hero recipients each receive $250 toward the charity of their choice.
The 2024 REALTORS® Charitable Foundation Board consists of SPAAR members Diana Allen, Tracy Baglio, Mark Esperson, Patti Jo Fitzpatrick, Man Huynh, Amy Peterson, Patrick Ruble and Bill Schwietz.
